Raspberry Herbal Tea

Menorrhagia (heavy or prolonged periods) is relatively common with 1 out of every 3 women.  It can be hard to know if your menstrual bleeding is considered heavy as often we have nothing to compare it to, unless there is a change in our own monthly cycle.

Menorrhagia makes it difficult to almost impossible to maintain your usual daily activities due to losing so much blood that you need to change your sanitary towel or tampon every hour or you need to double up on sanitary towels or where a sanitary towel and a tampon to avoid blood coming through onto clothing.

Similarly if you find yourself waking in the night needing to change your sanitary towel or tampon or if your period lasts a week or longer, these are all indications that you are experiencing heavier than normal periods.  Menorrhagia is not just inconvenient it can also affect your health, causing anemia, fatigue or shortness of breath.

This Raspberry herbal tea can help ease the symptoms and severity of menorrhagia due to the healing properties of these wonderful herbs. Raspberry is a wonder healing herb for women whether it's to relieve period cramping or to make labour easier.  Both Raspberry and Blue Cohosh are uterine herbs which help to tone and tighten the muscles in the uterus and the pelvis which can help ease painful cramping but they can also help to balance hormones and reduce blood flow.  Cinnamon can also help reduce menstrual bleeding and ease cramping.

Wild Yam is another excellent herb for women, it’s believed to behave in a similar way as the natural estrogen our bodies produce, helping to balance hormones which in turn helps to bring balance into menstrual bleeding.  Cramp Bark as the name suggests is an effective anti-spasmodic that can help alleviate menstrual cramping and pain associated with periods.
